Last week I and some friends of mine travel to Orlando. We went to a party and had a ball. I was selected to sing at the party. I rehearsed two songs just in case. When I got there I found out Iwas so out of touch. The DJ did not have a cassette player. I was going to sing Pride n-Joy by Marvin and Summertime. I changed the songs at the last minute. I did my songs and brought my bongos down from the stage. As I past the food table, with chicken, beans, and meatballs, there was a guy asking me to… Continue

Two weeks ago I was given some information by David Hooper. One of my goals is to become a writer for Film/TV. David stated for me to contact some colleges. I did that the next day. I mention this because acting on a tip can mean a red or green light. The thank you comes when we act on the information from the person. Know one is going to grab our hand and make the dream or vision happen.
Have a nice day everyone. Continue

I've been using The Sixty One for a about a month now. I've created a listening account and a few for my music projects/bands. As a user I discovered 100's of good songs by artist I never heard of. Thesixtyone gives incentives to users to listen to new music by giving quests to earn points and hearts.
On thesixtyone, artists sell their music directly to their fans. artists on thesixtyone make at least $7 per album and are
I was reading over some info on cdbaby's website. Derek Sivers' message on being an extreme you was left. Now, he was speaking about performing. I wish I had read or remembered that info before I had perform at Starbucks. I had to entertain out of my comfort zone. Outside was where I did not show for two sets. I was being just myself. I should have dance a little more and spin around a little more. I would have gotten more looks from the inside of Starbucks. Anyway, I have the info and the next… Continue

Working in the music business is like playing Tennis. You have to move and throw people off when you have negatives in your way. Even if you are playing a venue and the area for the performance is not great do your best. Make the show happen at a great height.

I have cousins that have been in local bands for years. Their good. They also have tapes setting in the attic. This was before mp3s. Like self-published authors they needed an outlet that did not try to control what they did or how they played. When I came across Tripleclicks I thought this might help. You can list items there for as little as .19 cents. You can also purchase the TuneFlow music packs in the music dept.

This is my first blog of many to come about the entertainment business, music, public relations, viral marketing and digital media and how they all can work together to grow your career to meet your goals.
After having been in the entertainment industry working in music, films and television I can tell you it’s a tough business but son is it rewarding.
