Hey, you should really think about offering marketing services on digimusicbids.com. You can also sell merchandise ebay style(auction) or at a fixed price. Then you can link the auctions by RSS feeds on different social networking sites. The site allows artists to post projects(graphic design, studio time, dj services, duplication, etc) and businesses to bid on them. Hit me up for more info or check out our site.

When I bought my first violin, a friend of mine, who was a violin teacher, was present. He stood there, watched me take it out of its case, then took it out of my hands, and started showing me rudimentary things, like how to hold the bow, and scales. He handed me the violin, and I started 'jamming'.

I wailed out solos from popular rock songs, and riffed out some scales. He was furious - he thought he was lied to. I did it, because the violin is tuned just like a mandolin.

When I got my cello, I already knew how it was tuned, and worked out the cords from there. I was practicing up for the 3rd cello position in the Nashville symphony, but decided to do rock instead of playing other people's songs. More money in rock, the sympony pays its 3rd cello 30k a year, and its a hard playlist to constantly learn, unless you've been playing cello since first grade.

When you tune the guitar 7 different ways, you get used to the fret board looking different every time. Knowing the piano and guitar prepares you for the way different instruments are set up. One thing I found interesting about the sitar tunings is that some of them are not on a piano , but in between western notes on the scale.

On the sitar, I bought several Ravi Shankar CDs, and learned to play along. Most of his songs had the sitar in a C# scale, or close to it. Some of the 40 different Raga scales where translated on the internet.

I buy an instrument, then spend some time learning how to play it. Some I have to forget about ; the bagpipes requires large lungs, which requires 13 years of playing in order to preform. Music is my mountain to climb, my white whale.

After I master an instrument, I have a hunger for more, constantly wanting to learn more instruments. If I were to see a guru, I would bring along several instruments, but I doubt he would see me for any longer than the Bagwan saw the Beatles. He might decide that I didn't start young enough to be able to pull off the riffs, or memorize the songs-much like the symphony job.

I work on and off, different times of the year, still trying to learn piano songs that I always wanted to learn. Some I have to re-learn, over time. Some require constant practice, or else both hands can't remember how to do it.

David Hooper sent out a mass-mail about a site for music reviews that he just started, almost like he knew I was seeking music reviews. I put up a discussion there, so that people would review my music, and in return, I would return the favor. The reviews from last week haven't arrived, the reviews from this week haven't arrived.

David Hooper and Countdown Entertainment in New York have made every effort, in making sure I would be on a sellable level.

When I recieve the reviews, and a bio is written, I would be able to send a industry-standard Press-Kit, but I fear I won't recieve the reviews in 3 weeks.

From what little I heard...If it was me and I had the ability to make a move, I'd say "So long and thanks for all the fish" to the agent. Then I'd pack up and move to Athens, Georgia. But...I HAVE been known to do things on the spur of the moment. Sooner or later, they usually work out for the best.
There are some very nice people here. I think you'll get your reviews.
