I am a singer/songwriter. Mostly though I call myself an entertainer, because I love to have fun while singing. I perform Jazz hits from the 40s that are being sung and played today. I am a funny crazy person with confidence and lack of it sometimes…

Avenues

Derek Sivers e-mailed me to read his blog and so I did. The info was very very encouraging. Be yourself was one of the statements from the book he had read. Don't go the path everyone else is going. Before reading his blog I had made up my mind to try and appreciate what I am doing in the business. In 2007 I made much more money than I did today, 2010. When I lived in Atlanta there were so many places I wanted to perform and so did everyone else. I had to make my on avenue to travel on. I am sti… Continue

Life as a Singer can it be?

To keep this blog short I will condense the content. I meet a woman who loved singing. She was given a choice by her husband the music or the marriage. I remembered when I was given the same choice. Before I answer let me tell you a little bit about the story. I made a mistake of telling my ex-husband I would stop my pursue of the music after a year if I did not succeed. Now, I supported him to the best of my ability even when it cost me more than what I could afford. I truly believe no human ha… Continue

What is your Life like today?

I received a call from an Activity Director about performing. I was happy she called even though she would not have since I've perform at this venue twice this year. It seems that many of her performers are leaving the state due to the economy. I had already left the state for the same reason, but I was able to get two gigs near the Atlanta area to come to sing for her audience.

On my way to Atlanta I got this call from a guy that I had meet a few years ago. He and some other employees wondered… Continue

Out of nowhere

Last week I and some friends of mine travel to Orlando. We went to a party and had a ball. I was selected to sing at the party. I rehearsed two songs just in case. When I got there I found out Iwas so out of touch. The DJ did not have a cassette player. I was going to sing Pride n-Joy by Marvin and Summertime. I changed the songs at the last minute. I did my songs and brought my bongos down from the stage. As I past the food table, with chicken, beans, and meatballs, there was a guy asking me to… Continue

Acting on a Tip

Two weeks ago I was given some information by David Hooper. One of my goals is to become a writer for Film/TV. David stated for me to contact some colleges. I did that the next day. I mention this because acting on a tip can mean a red or green light. The thank you comes when we act on the information from the person. Know one is going to grab our hand and make the dream or vision happen.

Have a nice day everyone.
