Music Marketing Network for Musicians and Music Business Professionals

Hey David how its going???

I just wanted to thank you for the great job youre doing helping us unsigned and amateur artists to show our music in the web… im about to upload a new song for my upcoming ep, and i still have many doubts about all this Business.

I read all the blogs and listen to all podcasts they very very interesting and helpful but i still cant find the link in my career that help me improve as an artist , i didnt find my review on the radio shows and well im a little worried about how what can i do to get my music heard by specialists and important people.

Its great to meet new musicians via web, but my main problema is that i fin extremly difficult to know what can i do with my songs.

I know, “makin it” is a very relative term but lol we all now what make it is, i feel great making music and evolving as an artista but still i think its Messing the half of this goal wich is... am i good at this? Does my talent really has a posiblity to make something?

Now i dont want to be dramatic but yes im very depresed and i think im going nowhere in this…

Wich is the next step?????????????

I have the songs i have the energy i have the inspiration, the ideas, the emotion its beautiful to make music… but what about the part where people relieve what you believe??

Having talent and being satisfied inside its not enough if you want to make a living with this.

I really really need some tips and who better than you to tell me personally

I hope you understand this.

Im about to upload a new song but myspace isnt working ill let you know when its up, still the songs there are a good example of my work.

H for hurry

HELP!

Than you again and sorry for trying to abuse of your time but sincerely im in a real real gap.

Artist, Composer, selling my songs, anything will serve, i think of myself as a good talent.

But maybe maybe im wrong

Who can help me get a better picture of this??

Muchas gracias otra vez

This is what I gathered from every blog and podcast that I have ever listened to (which recently... it has been a ton of them).

The number one thing is you have to get yourself out there (that would be step one). Since you have a CD, you probably have already done this, so now when you get out there (with your shows) sell your CD!

Every podcast I ever heard say that word of mouth is the best marketing money can buy. If people love your stuff they will buy and tell their friends. Make a little bit of money with that CD, then go tour around your region or country while selling your CD.

Granted I'm not David, who will give you something a lot better than what I will ever say, but I have found something that is a good guideline that I will attach to my post. It's called "A Plan for Your Music" and it breaks down into teirs of different things artists can do. As you will see, it has things like a "Beginner" level, which it breaks down into a list: #1 - select your instrument, #2 - get qualified lessons, et c. Check it out and I hope that helps you even a little bit!
